Clinical Proofs of Ayurveda on CKD !!

This link is for reference, since I have moved away from pure ayurveda I find this link super morale boosting!! TL;DR: 1/In 1 month, cretanine got reduced by 20% on 100 odd patients! 2/Urea also reduced by 30% 3/Hb slightly improved too. Other symptom that I am happy to see got controlled(ming you in 1 month!) 1/Nausea 2/Vomiting 3/Hiccups 4/Loss of appetite 5/Insomnia 6/Breathlessness Need to start looking at ayurveda with new hope!! 👍

Meeting the allopathic doctor after 6 months :-P

Okay, Confession time again! Although I wish to overcome dialysis and am trying everything feasible to get out of it, but lately, with the experiment of missing the dialysis once every fortnight, some new problems started to emerge! 1/So I started to feel difficulty in breathing, from 7-14 days of no dialysis 2/This ailment lasts from 0000hrs to 0300 hrs 3/When I sit upright, the problem goes away. And with the last dialysis done, I have been able to sleep absolutely well, i mean no such difficulties breathing. So *maybe* cretanine in the body is causing the problem. Further, my allopathic doctor insists I consult another another nephrologist, and take their opinion as to whether dialysis is recommended. He even put his degree at stake for this request! To which I humbly turned it down that I am not looking for *another nephrologist* opinion(tongue in cheek!) Later while exiting, he asked if I am taking any alternative medicines, which I confidently, said yes! And he tri...

Continuing with bunking the dialysis.

So, as per my allopathic doctors, I am suppose to undergo bi-weekly dialysis. Thanks to my current homeopathic doctor, I am messing with that rule and instead going to the dialysis, once every fortnight! So the learning from all this: Cretanine is not to be feared. Dialysis is nowadays used to flush the excess liquid out of your body.  Urea is a by-product of the body that needs to be removed, else it messes with your appetite. Hb is something that needs to be tracked carefully, as it is one of the major functions of the kidney. So for me, Cretanine is still out of control(its still 13-ish after 2 weeks of dialysis) There is no excess water logging in my body, inspite of non functional kidneys. Urea is being controlled via medicines(its W.I.P, hoovering around 3x the normal value) Hb is starting to touch near normal value. It is still low. But over the past weeks, its has only improved. That said, I could have been saved from the ordeal of going through the dial...

My first complete bunk of bi-weekly dialysis!

So here I am, talking about the successful completion of the bunk! I felt a bit weird last Saturday, maybe the kidneys were trying to say something, but I could feel they were trying to talk to me. Apart from that there was dizziness, maybe due to the heat in here or lack of sleep, but it would be unfair to discredit the bunk for this. Although there was this constant thought of me mein super-aware of what signals the body is trying to give and I was awake to the calling. So Just before the D-day last wednesday)it came after 2 weeks!) I did get some tests done: 1/Cretanine: 12ish 2/Hb :: Improving, but its still on lower side of the spectrum. 3/Urea : Its still 4x. So after the D-day, I met my sardaarji doctor, he did couple of changes to the medicines, still underlining the fact that he is trying to keep the medicines as mild as possible. One of the new medicines is 99% like turmeric(हल्दी). I wonder what it does, I am going to ask in our next meeting. That is all, hope th...

The next leap is near.. any guesses?

So it has been a month since my last reports and I had my reports done couple of days ago. Here is the gist of it: 1/Cretanine is fixtated at 9ish 2/Urea is fixtated at 2x 3/Hb improved tiny wee bit(it is still super duper low!) 4/I found my new enemy, maybe Hb is friends with it, but its called Iron! Yeah right, maybe you can say its Hb afterall, and this is what I said to sardaarji, he totally nullified my argument by: its not Hb, its You! Damn. Total Silence! So As my parameters are not showing deteriorment (this is the second word I coined! Wow!), I have got approval from sardaarji to SKIP MY WEEKLY DIALYSIS TOO  🙌🎉 So For the first time in roughly one year, I will be spending my Wednesday at home! Yay! That said, the fact that parameters did not improve, is a concern, partly because of: 1/My junk food eating habits(I devour zero mirchi namkeen) 2/I am drinking too much of milk(weekly more than a litre) 3/I have been eating too much pulses and papad(well, that...

I feel better, and the urge to take the next step is there, but...

But, there is a new kid on the block, staring right back at me. Its called Haemoglobin! From the Google lords: a red protein responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood of vertebrates. Its molecule comprises four subunits, each containing an iron atom bound to a haem group. So I am not telling my reports of it, (its utterly shocking!) But the fact that it has started to bother me. So I do not feel my Hb is that low, but the reports are a shocker. I mean, I don't feel tired, or exausted or nauseated, don't know if Hb has anything to do with it. But yes, after a longish walk, my shins start acting strange, and I feel like lying down for a bit of rest. That said, low Hb has been actioned upon, my super knowledgeable homepathic sardarji doc, is always full of so wonderful gems, that I just enjoy just visiting him and chatting! Coming back to the older villians.. Cretanine is still 9ish,  but I guess that is not a botheration, these allopathic demons, just cr...

Okay, Urea is down... Cretanine :-/ ?

So it has been more than a week since I am on only homeopathic medicines! It feels like my cretanine is 2.0 but the reports added an extra 1. Post one week reports: 1/Cretanine :: 12.0 2/Urea :: ~180 3/Phosphorous(what the heck is that?) :: ~8 (it eats away calcium!) None the less, I do feel a lot better with homeopathic medicines, my ayurvedic diet chart is in(yay!),  I just need to start rigerously following it. Also my breakfast options have super increased, plus my lesser liked veggies have been absent in my recent diet. But I can work on them sooner! Rest next update awaited!

Biggest #FacePalm moment for me!

I am a very stubborn kinda person! And when I form an opinion, I vehematically am super vocal about it Else a #facePalm moment awaits me, like what happened last friday. First a little background: I make joke of anything except Ayurveda, when it comes to medical treatment. Be it allopathy, reiki, homeopathy just about whatever. Simply because Ayurveda is the grandest, and most proven scientific medical system the world could ever have! I have opinion for every other treatment: Allopathy :: The science of disease(I need not say more) reiki :: Like an old CRT experiencing a strong magnetic field around it homeopathy :: Just sweet candy. And I make a lot of fun about them or anything except Ayurveda. Let's not go there. Context: So I have been taking this homeopathic medicine for urea with little success(read: self medication), I started it after acknowleding the feedback from everyone that I am stubborn and also the reports were bad, so I gave it a try. #FacePalm Mo...

The reports are a shocker!

Okay that time of the month when I check my progress! And the reports said: Cretanine : 11.3 Urea : 222 🙄😳😒 Well the explanation for this is:  I was already bunking one of the bi-weekly dialysis, so I was expecting Cretanine to hover around ~9. But urea, I expected to come down, because I've been on a no-paneer diet for 4-5 weeks now. Good/Bad, I started walking since last monday, it was a good change in the day-2-day routine and I was enjoying it, but undoubtingly it was super-tiring. And I timed my walks, for 2 days before the tests, I walked a total of 4 KMS 😳. As per my hunch this was the biggest cause of increase in cretanine(remember: exercise-->muscles-->cretanine-->kidney). The urea story finally got revealed! Thankfully, my paneer habits had nothing to do with urea at all. The urea is a waste product of the body when oxygen from blood is taken away by organs, the residual is urea(wow!). This is good update as I can get back to eating more panee...

Bunking is officially approved :-D

So I guess By now I have had 4-5 bunks from dialysis. Mind it : I am in constant touch with my ayurvedic doctors to do this! So I am taking a very calculated risk, not recommended for faint-hearted ;-) So my greatest fears with bunking were: 1/What happens when cretanine stays for longer than intended duration in the body? 2/What happens to urea? Answers: 1/The blood will remain toxic for 7 days as compared to 4 days. So the way out is: keep my diet upto the mark, as little outside food, and keeping the body as alkaline as I can.(god those taste buds!) 2/I am still surprised from where urea comes in the body? But given my new found freedom from paneer, I think I can cope with 50 gms paneer a day as and when required. 😎 Further, there were some visible side affects: 1/Eyes burning 2/Not feeling hungry 3/Fatigue(after my two outings for work, since my hospitalization) But I guess I had been less regualr with medicines et al. Hopefully they will go away too :-) And t...

Bunking my first dialysis

So I have found a new good alternative to reduce my urea input! The paneer in morning breakfast is the biggest culprit! I have given that up, now for a few days, I am taking daliya in breakfast. Hopefully urea should come down. I bunked my first dialysis, just to see how well I fare? And I fared badly, cretanine shot up from 6.5 to 9.5! Urea shot up from 4 times normal value to 5 times! So as of now I am dependent on dialysis, but hopefully when urea is under control, I will start bunking it again!😎

New Year New Hope

I am hoping to get rid of one dialysis atleast in a week. I am not taking paneer paratha. Although my diet is not strict Pranayam is not regular, after I caught bad cold! Reports are as per previous month. Need to meet ayurvedic docs!!
